Occupancy Sensor Control of Interior Space Lighting (Smaller Enclosed Space Types)
As part of a larger LED retrofit project, install occupancy sensors to control lighting in applicable non-24/7 spaces types (private offices, open-floor office spaces, conference rooms, etc.). Occupancy sensors are used to automatically shut off or dim lighting power in a space when it is not in use. As a hospital with many spaces operating 24 hours a day, applicable areas will be limited to office areas and other smaller enclosed space types, assigning less square footage per occupancy sensor. The addition of occupancy sensors allows for an additional energy saving of approximately 20% in applicable space when compared to manual lighting control.
• Roughly 10% of building square footage would include applicable spaces for occupancy sensor control.
• Approximately 175 occupancy sensors can be installed across various non-24/7 space types throughout the site.
• Costs based on contractor bids for material & installation estimated at $230 - $360/occupancy sensor.
